Here is our sweet Grandma Nana, or Grandma Esther. This is April 6, 2005, the day she became a great-grandmother- holding our little Markus. The reason I posted this picture is because I think grandma looks pretty and because I wanted to pay a little tribute to our sweet grandma who we had the privilege of saying good-bye to when we went home for Christmas. When we planned our trip home we couldn't have known that it would be the last time that we would visit with grandma and see her smile and even make jokes. It turns out that we were able to spend her last moments on earth with her and then be a part of her funeral services before we came home to Iowa. We had no idea we would be doing all of that while on our visit to Utah, but we were so thankful for the opportunity and the blessing it was to tell her how much we love her and be in her presence again as she prepared to meet our Heavenly Father.

Sorry about your Grandma. We lost ours also (my mom's mom) in October. She passed away the day after Cameron's b-day. We were so grateful that we were able to see her one last time before she passed away. You just never know when it is someone's time. Glad you were able to be a part of the funeral and see her. My thoughts are with you.
